The RT3635BT is an IMVP9.2-compliant CPU power controller featuring three voltage rails: a 5-phase synchronous buck controller for VCCCORE VR, a 2-phase synchronous buck controller for VCCGT VR, and a 1-phase synchronous buck controller for VCCSA VR. Each rail’s output can be configured to support the desired phase assignments, with a maximum of 5 phases for VCCCORE, 2 phases for VCCGT, and 1 phase for VCCSA. For example, the RT3635BT supports output configurations such as 5+2+1, 4+2+1, 3+2+1, among others. The RT3635BT incorporates the Smart Phase Management (SPM) feature to achieve maximum efficiency across all load ranges. It features user-programmable thresholds for automatic phase addition or removal via the I2C protocol interface. The RT3635BT utilizes G-NAVPTM (Green Native AVP), Richtek's proprietary topology derived from the finite DC gain of the EA amplifier with current mode control. This makes it easy to set the droop to meet all Intel CPU requirements of AVP (Adaptive Voltage Positioning). Based on the G-NAVPTM topology, the RT3635BT features a new generation of quick response mechanism (Adaptive Quick Response, AQR) to optimize AVP performance during load transients and minimize the needs for output capacitors. The device supports mode transition functions across various operating states and includes a built-in serial VID (SVID) interface for communication with Intel IMVP9.2 compliant CPUs. The RT3635BT supports the baby phase (Heterogeneous Phase) feature, which utilizes relatively smaller rating power devices and larger inductance and resistance values for phase 1 to enhance light-load efficiency. The RT3635BT offers built-in non-volatile memory (NVM) for storing platform settings, such as ICCMAX, switching frequency, or AQR trigger levels. It provides VR ready output signals and features comprehensive fault protection functions, including overvoltage (OV), overcurrent (OC), undervoltage (UV), and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). The RT3635BT is available in a WQFN-60L 7x7 footprint package. The recommended operating junction temperature range is from -40°C to 125°C.
